The Center for Discourse Analysis Research (CADISS) was founded in 2007, as an interdisciplinary research structure of the Faculty of Letters and Communication Sciences, by a group of professors and researchers from the “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava, in collaboration with representatives of the Suceava community (local and county administration, people of culture, public figures…), interested in the dynamics and analysis of public, political, media, socio-economic, philosophical, historical discourse, the discourse of the evolution of languages…
CADISS organizes scientific and cultural activities in collaboration with a large number of partners, in the presence of outstanding personalities in the fields of language sciences, cultural studies, mentalities.
CADISS is included in several international networks of discourse analysis studies (Europe, Africa), the ANADISS publication, the journal of the Suceava Research Center for Discourse Analysis, is indexed in important international databases (ERIH Plus, CEEOL, DOAJ, OCLC Worldcat…).
Through the participation of doctoral students and young researchers, CADISS aims to stimulate and support scientific research activity in the field of language sciences, diversifying and adapting it to the requirements of current scientific investigation.
The first director of CADISS was Prof. Dr. Vasile Dospinescu. From 2016-2024, the director of the Center was Prof. Univ. DHC. Sanda-Maria Ardeleanu.
